Formulas in development
Two formats. Thoughtful ingredients. A simpler brushing routine. Here’s what we’re developing, and what still needs testing before grinny is ready.

FORMULA OUTLINE · PRE-LAUNCHStart with your format

A measured dry tablet, dispensed from the base. The formula is being developed to break down with saliva before brushing. Dissolving time, texture and instructions will be confirmed through testing.

A ready-to-use gel in its own cartridge. A twist at the base is designed to send a measured amount into the brush head. Its formula and refill are separate from the tablet system.
The formulation brief
These are the roles in our formulation brief. The final ingredient lists and amounts are still being developed.
A sugar alcohol used for sweetness. We’re considering it to help make the flavor pleasant without adding sugar.[6]
An ingredient studied in oral-care formulas for its effect on breath odor. The right zinc form, amount and performance for grinny still need to be established.[3]
Ingredients such as silica or calcium carbonate can help brushing clean tooth surfaces. We’ll assess the finished formula’s abrasiveness and feel before choosing the final system.[2]
Mint green, strawberry pink and citrus gold match the planned flavors. Purple is an optional tint for any flavor; color doesn’t tell you how well a formula performs.
A different kind of routine
Saliva adds moisture in your mouth. Our tablet concept aims to use that moisture; the paste starts as a gel. We’re also developing SLS-free formulas with a low-foam feel. SLS-free and zero foam mean different things, so we’ll measure how the finished products behave. Dry mouth can affect comfort and use.[1][2]

Mint. Strawberry. Citrus. Original or purple.
Choose flavor and color separately.
What is known. What comes next.
That isn’t established yet. Fluoride-free or food-grade ingredients alone don’t make a finished formula safe to swallow. Formula, amount, frequency and age all matter. Final directions and age guidance will follow safety review.[4][2]
We’re planning fluoride-free formulas. The ADA recommends brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste. Ask your dentist how a fluoride-free product would fit into your routine.[5]
Ingredient amounts, oral tolerance, abrasiveness, shelf life, dispensing accuracy and daily-use directions. Sink-free use, swallowing instructions and children’s ages are not yet confirmed.
The design includes a sealed refill chamber, a secure base and a head plate that clicks off. Refill capacity, dispensing accuracy, attachment strength and water-resistance performance still need validation.
Keep xylitol products away from dogs. If a dog may have eaten one, contact a vet immediately.[6]
These references explain ingredient roles and oral-care basics. They do not establish the safety or performance of grinny’s unfinished formulas.
